- Born in Hilversum, Holland, I am a naturalized Canadian living with my wife of thirty three years in Newfoundland, Canada. I have spent thirty
three years in the oil well drilling industry starting on land rigs in Western Canada and working mostly offshore on, jack-ups, Tender barge, Platform rigs, drill ships and semi-submersibles. With more than 25 years on dynamically positioned semi-subs and drill ships I have gained experience which
is not taught in any college!
- I am also a graduate of “Coastal School of Deep Sea Diving”, and spent some time as an oil field diver working offshore Canada, North Sea and Brazil , due to health reasons I had to give up that career.
- My most interesting times have been working in deep water, my rig drilled the first discovery well in the Roncador field offshore Macae, Brazil back in the late nineties, drilling and completing this well in up to 6400 + feet of water, Roncador is the same field that claimed the P-36, a semi-submersible floating production vessel owned by Petrobras.
- Because of my past experience and my experience in the building and revamping of DP vessels I am ideally suited to advise and work with any company starting deep water work, I believe I can be of great help in starting and bringing any deep water project to a very successful end with possibly good savings on the cost of your project.
